Repainted’s 2023 collection draws our attention to the territories that are risking extinction due to climate change. The rising of water level, as a consequence of global warming, threatens earthly paradises and risks making populations and traditions disappear. To such remote lands, but still close to our hearts, we focused our inspiration for our latest collection.
Tahiti and Moorea, part of the Wind Islands, are located in the southernmost part of the Pacific. They are cradles of ancient cultures, which come back to life in our patterns, through the stories of the creation of the world, between heaven and earth.
Java tells us the story of this wonderful island subject to continuous floods, where wild horses, considered sacred, live.
In Ari and Malè, Polynesian atolls, the over heating of the water is destroying both coral reef and local flora,
with a huge risk of being submerged, with their only 90 cm above level sea.
Vanatu, Vulcanic island in Micronesia, has always been a traveling destination for painters, who portrayed its
varieties of shells and birds, now almost all extinct.
Taking care of theose places is our responsibility. Together we can make the difference through our
daily actions, protecting the planet
